History

Rockhill’s Environmental Program is an evolution of one of the first dedicated environmental liability specialists in the country.

1989

National Environmental Coverage Corporation (NECC) established as the first wholesale intermediary focusing exclusively on environmental risks

2000

NECC established as the Managing General Underwriter for a highly rated insurer, becoming one of the first dedicated environmental underwriting units in the nation.  Under the highly rated carrier’s flag, NECC developed innovative environmental insurance products covering a broad spectrum of risks.

2008

Rockhill Insurance Group acquires NECC, taking the company from an MGU platform to a direct insurance company affiliation.  This change provided the full financial support of Rockhill, and also allowed the NECC underwriting team the flexibility to more quickly respond to market demands.

2009

State Automobile Mutual Insurance Company acquires Rockhill Insurance Group.  This acquisition diversified the base of earnings and the portfolio of products offered through the State Auto system, and also provided Rockhill with the financial support and stability of a company with over $3.25 billion in assets.

Throughout its history, the Rockhill Environmental NECC team has been dedicated to creating a broad range of environmental insurance products available at a cost that’s affordable to even the smallest companies.
