Terry Younghanz
President & Chief Executive Officer
Terry Younghanz is the President & Chief Executive
Officer of Rockhill Insurance Company. Mr. Younghanz is
a highly respected insurance leader with a successful career
spanning over 31 years. Mr. Younghanz joined RLI Insurance
Group (“RLI”) in 1987 from St. Paul Surplus
Lines Insurance Company where he was Senior Vice President
of the Athena Division. In his first ten years at RLI,
Mr. Younghanz was directly responsible for the umbrella
line of business.
In 1996, Mr. Younghanz was appointed to the newly created
role of Chief Underwriting Officer (“CUO”)
and was ultimately responsible for leading a $280 million
annual book of business which encompassed both property
and casualty lines along with the additional responsibility
for directing RLI’s reinsurance strategy and corporate
acquisition policy. In November 1998, Mr. Younghanz left
RLI to join GE Insurance Solutions as President of First
Specialty Insurance Corp. and in September 1999, Mr. Younghanz
assumed the Presidency of Westport Insurance Company, in
addition to his role at First Specialty.
In January 2001, in recognition of the successes implemented
at First Specialty and Westport, Mr. Younghanz was promoted
to the Chief Underwriting Officer of GE Commercial Insurance,
a $2.5 billion premium business, in which he reported directly
to the President of GE Commercial Insurance.
Colin Mayo
Senior Vice President & Chief Property Officer
Mr. Mayo has 25 years of insurance industry experience,
having spent over four years with GE Insurance Solutions
initially as Director of Catastrophe Management, and subsequently
as Senior Vice President & Business Leader of Catastrophe
Underwriting. Prior to joining GE Insurance Solutions Mr.
Mayo spent over three years with ACE USA as a Vice President
of Catastrophe Products.
Richard T. Parks
Senior Vice President & Chief Casualty Officer
Mr. Parks has 18 years of product development experience in
the “specialty” insurance arena.
For six years prior to joining Rockhill, Mr. Parks was
the Vice President of Business Development at American
Safety Insurance in Atlanta, GA. Before joining American
Safety Insurance, Mr. Parks was the Vice President of Marketing & Business
Development within the Environmental Risk Management Practice
at Alexander & Alexander, Inc., in New York, NY.
Thomas Warthen, FCAS, MAAA
Senior
Vice President & Chief Actuary
Mr. Warthen has 39 years of experience as an actuarial
consultant and Chief Actuary, having spent the last eight
years as Chief Actuary of RLI Corporation (“RLI”)
located in Peoria, IL. Prior to joining RLI, Mr.
Warthen was an Actuarial Consultant & Principal within
the Tillinghast Division of Towers Perrin, located in Philadelphia,
PA.
Jessica E. Buss, CPA
Senior Vice President & Chief
Financial Officer
Ms. Buss has over 9 years of property and casualty insurance
experience, having spent over seven years as Chief Financial
Officer of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (“Citizens”)
one of the state of Florida’s largest property and
casualty insurance companies which writes over $1.5 billion
in premium and has over $4 billion in assets.
In addition to managing all the reinsurance, financing,
investing and accounting activities for Citizens, Ms. Buss
also participated in reserving, pricing and catastrophe
operations. Prior to joining Citizens, Ms. Buss spent 5
years in public accounting working for Thomas, Howell,
Ferguson and Arthur Andersen, LLP specializing in insurance
services. Ms. Buss has extensive experience with statutory
and GAAP accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Douglas E Goode, ARe
Senior Vice President – Business Development
Mr. Goode has over 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. For 17 years prior to joining Rockhill, Mr. Goode was with the reinsurance intermediary Benfield, were he was a Senior Vice President on the Midwest origination team. Most of Mr. Goode’s efforts at Benfield were spent producing and placing reinsurance programs for MGA’s and/or their specialty carrier partners. Prior to joining Benfield, Mr. Goode spent 3 years in the actuarial department of Employer’s Reinsurance. Mr. Goode graduated with a BBA in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire.
Joan Goode
Vice President & Controller
Ms. Goode is a qualified Certified Public Accountant with
19 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior
to joining Rockhill, Ms. Goode was employed by a multi-line
P&C
insurance carrier with multi-billion dollar capitalization.
Ms. Goode graduated from Central Missouri State University
with a BSBA in Accounting and has earned her Certified
Public Accounting Certificate.
